Shakira starred for the cover of the April issue of Allure magazine. In the interview she talked about how her two sons from Gerard Pique, Sasha and Milan, reacted to the movie “Barbie”. According to the singer, they found the treatment of men in the movie humiliating.
“They found it humiliating. And I agree to a certain extent. I’m raising two boys. I want them to feel strong too, while respecting women,” she said.
“I love that pop culture is trying to empower women without disempowering men from being men and protecting and providing. I believe that women should be given all the tools, and I believe that we can do all of that without losing our essence, without losing our femininity.”
“I think both men and women have their roles in society and they are different. We complement each other and that should not be lost.”
